Whyte & Mackay Blended Scotch Whisky was born in 1844, when James Whyte and Charles Mackay, in Glasgow, Scotland, decided to blend more than 35 brands of the best Scottish whiskies, to create the most harmonious and distinctive blended Scotch whisky.

DOUBLE MARRIAGE

To create their whisky, they used a particular procedure still used today: a “double marriage” process.
Most distillers in fact, bottle the whisky after one maturation. White & Mackay Scotch Whisky instead, is double matured, to ensure a perfectly balanced blend. The single malts, “married” together are in fact held in sherry butts for some months. Then the blend obtained is mixed with up to six different grain whiskies and once again put into the sherry butts for an ulterior maturation process which makes it reach perfection, with a mellow, smooth and distinctive character. White & Mackay is so special that in Scotland it has become the “scotch whisky most drunk by the Scots”.
